Where can we live in London, UK that is relatively inexpensive?

Myself and and a friend are planning to move to London, UK in a year or so, and we are wondering if anyone has any tips as to where we can find a cheap and not utterly disgusting apartment to rent?

    You won’t find anything cheap, but there are some less expensive areas. My friends live in Hounslow. It’s not exactly beautiful, but it has great transport links and is close to some lovely (expensive) places like Richmond and Kew.

    London is one of the most expensive cities in the world, sorry.

    try to find something in east area of london, but anyways london is expensive and you wont find anything very cheap
