Hi. I am in the U.S. and my girlfriend is in London, working on a project. I need to find a low-cost computer to phone and/or computer to computer messaging service to communicate with her. I have a Dell PC, she has a Mac Powerbook. We talk on the phone now, but it is limited due to cost. Alternately, if I could find some sort of cell phone add-on service, that might also work. She has access to a land line in London. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance for replies.

Would you wait to take a trip to London until the US dollar improves?

I’m turning 30 this summer and I am starting to plan a trip to London, maybe a few side trips to nearby countries. I’ve been dying to go for a long time, but so many people have said that I should wait until the US dollar gains strength, otherwise I’m going to be spending way too much money. Also, do you have any suggestions of good websites with reasonably priced travel packages that will tour you to multiple regional destinations? London, Paris, Frankfurt, etc?

How long does it take for the US embassy in London to schedule an interview for a K1 visa?

I’m at the absolute last stage ie I have submitted all my paperwork, collected all the required documents and have requested the US embassy in London for an interview date. The customer service at the embassy tell me that it will take 6-8 weeks before they even respond to me. And then it is 2 weeks or so after that for a date. Is this true or are those just the standard answers they give out? Is there anyone out there who has gone through this who can give me an actual time frame? I’m hoping to be with my fiance before christmas..Please help!
I’m aware of the total length of the process, but how long did the last stage take? i mean from the time you requested an interview till the interview date/visa issual?
A big thanks too all of you who responded. Your information was extremely helpful Alie..thanks a million.
I’m extending the question hoping for more personal experience:)
